How do I register for a track day?

On the main page of the website you can get to the Motorsports Registration page by clicking on the “Register for Events” button, or by clicking here. If you don’t have a Motorsports Reg account you will need to make an account.

Do I need a membership to ride with MCRA?

Yes all riders are required to have a membership. Memberships can be purchased while registering for an event, or simply buying just the membership if you are not riding that event.

What does your event schedule look like?

How do I obtain a Race License?

To become a fully licensed racer and compete in any official races or the MCRA Challenge Series races, riders are required to have a valid racers license. To get a license, racers will have to attend an accredited racer’s clinic, pass the course, and then provide proof of passing if not attending our own race clinic. MCRA has submitted all the required filings and received the credentials to hold a racer’s licensing clinic at our MCRA Track Days.  Clinics are held at every MCRA event on Saturdays.

Is a DOT certified full face helmet acceptable? Is SNELL M required?

You must have an undamaged full-face helmet with a face shield and bearing a stamp of approval from one of the following international standards: BSI, ECE-2205, DOT, or SNELL.

How old do you need to be to sign up for a Track Day?

Applicants must be at least 12 years of age. Applicants below the age of minority in their home state must provide a notarized statement of permission from a legal parent or guardian at each event. MCRA reserves the right to restrict participation in any event based on age and/or specific track regulations.

Is the Race School an additional fee on top of the track day or does it cover everything?

No, the Race School covers both the track day and the cost of the race school.

I couldn’t find the fees for Test The Track, are they the same as others? How Many sessions do I get with TTT?

The current fee for TTT is $1. You will need a MCRA membership and TTT is only available at our Gateway Motorsports Park events. You’ll get one 15 minute track session starting at 8:45am.

Is it necessary to have Number Plates for just the Track Day?

All bikes on the track are required to have a number on the front and or back of the bike, and a matching number on the back of the rider’s helmet. Both numbers should be visible from 100ft away.

Is there fuel available for purchase at the track?

Some tracks offer fuel but it isn’t something to plan on. Most of the tracks have gas station within a couple miles.  Also some of our trackside vendor will have race fuel for sale.

What kind of track side services do you offer?

At most of our events, we have a full service mobile suspension shop, multiple vendors offering parts, tire warmers and stands for rent and for sale. Plus tire support from Pirelli, Michelin and Bridgestone. Email info@midwestcaferacing.com before your event for specific details about that event.

Do you offer any refunds?

There is a 10% cancellation fee if you cancel 14 days prior to the event. (Refunds will be given as credit towards future events during the same calendar year.) After 14 days prior to the event, no refunds will be granted.

I can’t make it to the next event, can I sell my spots to another rider?

Rider substitutions are not allowed (you may not sell your spot).

I ride in the Advanced group, do I need to purchase a license?

No, a race license is only need if you are racing.

If I’m not racing, do I need to remove antifreeze and safety wire?

Track day participants will not be allowed to run Ethylene-glycol antifreeze. Intermediate and advanced group riders must have the oil fillers, drains and filters safety wired.

What is the last date to take advantage of early registration discount?

Two weeks prior to the track day.

How do I sign up for the Race Clinic?

To sing up for race clinic, on the main page of the website you can get to the Motorsports Registration page by clicking on the “Register for Events” button, or by clicking here. That will take you to the Motorsports Registration page. If you don’t have an account you will need one. This is how you will register for for the event (and future events). Under Saturday Track Day selection You will select “Saturday Race Clinic”. This also includes your Saturday Intermediate track day.

Do you have any info on the process to get and/or share a garage?

Each track is a little different, the best way to get information is to check on Motorsport reg , on the MCRA forum or our Facebook Page.

What is required for Novice, Intermediate, and Advance Class?

I’m riding Novice, do I need to zip tie the side stand?

No it is not required for novice riders but is recommend.

I’m not bringing anyone with me, will there be someone there to help unload me unload my bike?

The paddock at any track event is a busy place but you should be able to always find someone to help.

I’ll probably need training, do you offer that? I’m looking to ride better, how do I go further?

Our coaches are there to help you on and off the track. They are more than happy to answer all questions you have.
